Did You Know?

Wall-Custance Funeral Home has been planting trees in partnership with the University of Guelph since 1989. Together through our Memorial Forest program, we’ve planted more than 18,000 trees.

Wall-Custance Memorial Forest Program

The Wall-Custance Memorial Forest program provides an opportunity to commemorate the life of a loved one in a special way; by planting a tree — a living memorial. The Memorial Forest is a living laboratory, a haven for our natural wildlife and a commitment to the wellbeing of future generations.

To continue the important tradition of remembrance and new growth, The Arboretum and the Wall-Custance Funeral Home and Chapel collaborated to create a video documenting the planting of this year’s tree: a Bur Oak. Families, friends, and loved ones can watch the 2022 video below:

WEBB, Eileen Joyce (nee Mitchell) – May 6, 1929 – November 20, 2022

It is with grateful hearts that we say goodbye to our dear Mom, Eileen Joyce Webb at the age of 93.

Lovingly remembered by Pam (Jurgen 2019), Bev (Doron), Richard (Sandy) and Nancy. Nanny to Todd (Elyse), Amy (Jason), Noa, Miya, Nava and GG Nan to Holly, Hazel, and Claire. She will be missed by her brother Allan Mitchell, her sister Betty Bedini also many nieces, nephews and friends. Mom was a positive influence in all our lives and helped guide us through the years in her own loving and caring way.

Born in Burlington, she lived the majority of her adult life raising her family on the farm in Badenoch. She was involved in her community as a 4-H leader, WI member and VON homemaker.  Her next 20 years were spent in Guelph where she continued her volunteer work at the Senior Centre enjoying her books and flower garden. She moved to Riverside Glen Retirement after turning 90.  When asked “How are you today?” she would often answer with “It’s as good as it gets”. Mom lived each day on her own terms and just got on with it. We are so thankful for her sweet smile, her balanced advice, and the unconditional love for her family.

Cremation has taken place and a private celebration will be held at a later date.  Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com
